Someone said to me, 'I like reading about your success but I want to hear more about H and R and I want to know what is going on in your life too. Oh, and pictures, can you please post pictures.' So, the picture thing is just because I have gotten lazy. I need to post pictures, especially an update pic of myself to show the difference in my body (and there is definitely a difference, let me tell you!).
So, I will try to blog more about H and R. They are my two favorite guys and they deserve a little spot light. After all, without their support, all this running and trying to enhance my health would not be possible. They are patient on the weekends for my long runs and bless R's heart, he is running the 10K portion of my 1/2 marathon (which is in 2 weeks but who's counting?).
This morning it was cold, it was rainy, it was breezy... and H's football practice wasn't cancelled! On the way there H said to me, 'mom, it's cold and rainy - let's turn around, we can go home'. He had no idea how much that appealed to me however, what kind of lesson would I be teaching him? So, we went to football. He had on a hat and gloves and a warm sweatshirt coat and for some reason, other parents dressed their kids in shorts, no coat, short sleeves, etc. What were they thinking? it was 41 degrees outside and I felt horrible for those kids! I was freezing with my Under Armor Cold Gear on... it was cold, people.
After we went to Sports Clips to get little H a hair cut for the spring/summer time. He was very chatty with the girl trimming him up and even got her to put blue hair gel in his hair! After that he was hungry. The previous night H was so cranky, I made him go to his room with the intention of visiting with him within a few minutes to discuss his behavior/attitude. When I went upstairs, he was fast asleep. I thought to let him rest for 1/2 hour and we tried to wake him up, but he would have none of it. So, I figured he would be hungry all day. I took him to Cici's (next door to the hair place)... um, never again. SO GROSS. I had never been, I had friends who like it and I am telling you - fugusting. I suffered through and then it was nap time!
I slept for 3.5 hours!!! I was so tired and really, I love weekends when I take a good nap. I know there are people who can nap for 20 minutes but I love me a long nap. It was cold, rainy, and windy out so great sleeping weather. When I woke up, I knew I needed to head out the door for a run.
The first mile = brutal. My right hip is sore. I have tried resting. In fact, this week was the first week I did not do 6 workouts in one week. I only did 3 and I had internal panic attacks about it but I finally am admitting, my body needs the rest. So, today's run was sore and when I got to my 6 mile mark, I walked the rest of the way home in effort not to injure myself further.
I also am having panic attacks about my nutrition. SERIOUSLY it is so poor at this point. I don't know what to do. I am a chocoholic, loving my diet Pepsi, basically avoiding water, and eating carbs like a crazy fool. I need to have some sense knocked into me. I gave myself until this evening. I am trying to get more focused so we will see how it all goes.
