A Full Saturday

Someone said to me, 'I like reading about your success but I want to hear more about H and R and I want to know what is going on in your life too.  Oh, and pictures, can you please post pictures.'  So, the picture thing is just because I have gotten lazy.  I need to post pictures, especially an update pic of myself to show the difference in my body (and there is definitely a difference, let me tell you!).

So, I will try to blog more about H and R.  They are my two favorite guys and they deserve a little spot light.  After all, without their support, all this running and trying to enhance my health would not be possible.  They are patient on the weekends for my long runs and bless R's heart, he is running the 10K portion of my 1/2 marathon (which is in 2 weeks but who's counting?).

This morning it was cold, it was rainy, it was breezy... and H's football practice wasn't cancelled!  On the way there H said to me, 'mom, it's cold and rainy - let's turn around, we can go home'.  He had no idea how much that appealed to me however, what kind of lesson would I be teaching him?  So, we went to football.  He had on a hat and gloves and a warm sweatshirt coat and for some reason, other parents dressed their kids in shorts, no coat, short sleeves, etc.  What were they thinking?  it was 41 degrees outside and I felt horrible for those kids!  I was freezing with my Under Armor Cold Gear on... it was cold, people.

After we went to Sports Clips to get little H a hair cut for the spring/summer time.  He was very chatty with the girl trimming him up and even got her to put blue hair gel in his hair!  After that he was hungry.  The previous night H was so cranky, I made him go to his room with the intention of visiting with him within a few minutes to discuss his behavior/attitude.  When I went upstairs, he was fast asleep.  I thought to let him rest for 1/2 hour and we tried to wake him up, but he would have none of it.  So, I figured he would be hungry all day.  I took him to Cici's (next door to the hair place)... um, never again.  SO GROSS.  I had never been, I had friends who like it and I am telling you - fugusting.  I suffered through and then it was nap time!

I slept for 3.5 hours!!!  I was so tired and really, I love weekends when I take a good nap.  I know there are people who can nap for 20 minutes but I love me a long nap.  It was cold, rainy, and windy out so great sleeping weather.  When I woke up, I knew I needed to head out the door for a run.

The first mile = brutal.  My right hip is sore.  I have tried resting.  In fact, this week was the first week I did not do 6 workouts in one week.  I only did 3 and I had internal panic attacks about it but I finally am admitting, my body needs the rest.  So, today's run was sore and when I got to my 6 mile mark, I walked the rest of the way home in effort not to injure myself further.

I also am having panic attacks about my nutrition. SERIOUSLY it is so poor at this point.  I don't know what to do.  I am a chocoholic, loving my diet Pepsi, basically avoiding water, and eating carbs like a crazy fool.  I need to have some sense knocked into me.  I gave myself until this evening.  I am trying to get more focused so we will see how it all goes.

I'm Alive

I haven't logged in since April 5???  I didn't fall off the face of the earth if that is what you were worried about.  Actually, I am in a funk.  I have not weighed myself in over a week.  I was getting frustrated with not losing at least 1 pound a week... I know, there was that 6 or 7 pound loss but truthfully, I wanted more and it pissed me off.  I feel like I am sabotaging myself right now and I really need to stop it.

It finally happened, I admitted I have an injury.  My Achilles tendons are sore and my right hip hurts all the time when I move around.  It's like a pulled muscle that will not heal.  Very frustrating.  I am hoping this will heal with the three days of rest I have given it.  I am going to run tomorrow so cross my fingers it will be smooth.

I have been able to run with a 10:30 pace which is exciting too.  I really hope with the route being fairly flat, that I can keep that up for the race.  I signed up for the dam to dam which is 12 miles and at the beginning of June.  After that, I hope to do some 10K runs and then train again this summer for another 1/2 at the end of summer and sometime in the fall.

All this and my nutrition needs to get back in check.  I am off balance with my diet and it's very frustrating for me.  I just want to get back on the wagon to choosing healthy foods so that I can reach my 150 goal.  I will get there, just wish it wasn't so hard.

186.6

Today was the final weigh in for a competition at work.  I started the competition 12 weeks ago at 204.3 and weighed in this AM at 186.6 - proof scales are all different because that is what I weighed in at at home, naked, on my scale.  I know, mental picture you don't want in your brain but if it makes you feel better I am tan and we all know tan fat is better than not tan fat - amen!

I am going to run 8 miles on Saturday I decided.  I have about 6 weeks until my 1/2 marathon and I need to taper the last two weekends so these next two weekends I plan to do an 8 miler and then a 13 miler.  I can do this, I know I can.

In other news, I am going to take a golf lesson today.  I just feel like I haven't had anybody help me with my swing and grip in a while so this will be good.  I want to get back into he sport this spring/summer/fall and I think it will help to improve my basic skills.  It' also another way for me to be active which I am open to as well.  I'll let you know how that goes. :)

Pictures - I will make it my goal to start to take more pictures.  I know, I'm bad at this.

those are my random thoughts, have a great Thursday!

The Beginning of Month 3

April 1 is here and my measurements are in:

I weighed in at 187.8 this morning and I feel really good.  It's nice to have the goal of reaching 180 now instead of 190.  I just needed to get over that hump.  So, that is a total of 18.25 inches off my body and 23.6 pounds gone... still have a ways to go but for now I am happy.  I can fit into some older clothes I have that are still fashionable and I hope to buy some newer clothes when those get too big.  Right now I am just focused on 180.

On Saturday I did my longest run to date - 12 miles!  OMG it was long but truly it didn't seem so until mile 10 and then I had to will everything in my body to move.  I was tired.  I even had some energy chew things and water with me this time.  by mile 8 I was feeling good but crashed at 10.... i hope to run 13 this weekend, we'll see, it's the holidays and I'm sure it will be crazy hectic.  These next two weekends are throwing me for a loop with travel.  I know it can be done but I just panic at the idea of not getting my run in!
